The HT-HP-Laboratories comprises a vertical gas-mixing furnace (Carbolite-Gero STF 16/180) for for synthesis of glasses or crystals under controlled oxygen fugacity (f₀₂ conditions). Gas mixtures of CO, CO₂ and Ar/H₂ are possible or experiments can be run under atmospheric conditions.

The hydrothermal laboratory is equipped with horizontal and vertical cold-seal pressure vessels for the synthesis of crystals or glasses or to study interactions between minerals/rocks, melts, and fluids at hydrostatic conditions. The hydrothermal lab comprises three lines: 200 MPa line, 500 MPa line and rapid quench line.

The Micro X-Ray Fluorescence (µXRF) Lab houses two spectrometers used for element dirstribution maps and quantitative analysis of the main and trace elements. The Bruker Tornado M4 plus can analyse samples up to 16x20 cm and runs under vacuum to allow detection of low mass elements. The lowest spot size is 20 µm.
