Description

The ICP-OES Lab focusses on the determination of elements in the concentration range from μg/l to g/l. It is suitable for analyses of large sample throughputs due to low analysis time. The configuration of the 5110 ICP-OES with vertical dual view (VDV) allows both radial and axial views of the plasma with a vertically arranged torch. Simultaneous measurements of all elements of interest ensure analyses with low sample amounts at low measurement duration. The ICP-Expert software offers different options for background correction as well as the Fast-Automated Curve-fitting Technique (FACT) for interference correction of complex spectra. The calibration of the spectrometer can be performed by external calibration or by standard addition using single or multi-element standard solutions.
The 5110 ICP-OES is used for the determination of major and trace elements in different geological samples and water samples. Depending on the digestion method, type of sample material and element concentration in the sample, the following elements are determined: Li, Be, B, Na, Mg, Al, Si, K, Ca, Sc, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Cd, Sn, Ba, Pb, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu.
The ICP-OES Lab is associated to the ElMiE Lab. Information on how to apply for analyses and the general terms and conditions can be found here and here.
